Special Projects:

The Special Projects Unit
is responsible for the development and implementation of cultural
and informational programming that enriches the experiences of
the UCLA and broader Los Angeles communities through a variety
of outreach vehicles. A central component of Special Projects
is an active symposium and lecture series focusing on topics of
local, national, and international significance. Among the events
organized annually are African American History Month, The Thurgood
Marshall Lecture on Law and Human Rights, and presentations by
UCLA faculty, visiting scholars, and the Bunche Center-Institute
of American Cultures Postdoctoral and Predoctoral Fellows. Throughout
the academic year, there are also various events that are co-sponsored
with other departments and organizations on campus.
